What Makes Family Camp 3 Special?

Family Camp at Portage Lake is a vacation unlike any other! There is something for everyone!

In the morning after worshiping together, adults are challenged in Bible study while kids and teens divide into age-based small groups for a lesson and some games. Throughout the afternoon enjoy all that Portage Lake has to offer: waterfront, climbing wall, arts & crafts, the Canteen, high ropes course, canoe trips on the Manistee & Pine Rivers, flying squirrel, carpetball, Cool Beans coffee shop, water trampoline, dune hike and much more.

A favorite of Family Camps is always the camper vs. staff sports. Take on our summer staff in basketball, softball, baseball and volleyball. After evening chapel, the staff always has something memorable planned-like a family game show in the Chapel or a special outdoor movie.

Family Camp is all inclusive! It’s a chance to be together as a family, in a place unlike any other. Your family will share experiences that you will never forget.

There is limited space in Family Camps, call the camp office at 231-889-5911 or email Ruth@portagelake.org for availability.

Guest Speaker

Pastor Jerry Foster

Jerry in his own words:

“For the last 30 years I have served my local church as an elder, deacon, lay pastor, teacher, and small group leader.

During that time I was also the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of a software company, where I led our research and design initiatives while also traveling around the world speaking at various conferences as a keynote speaker.

I am now retired and live just outside Lansing, Michigan, with Angie, my wife of 33 years, and our obnoxious cat, Simon.

We have been blessed with four kids, two son-in-laws, and two grandchildren. We are members of Red Cedar Church in Okemos, Michigan.”
