What Makes Family Camp 2 Special?

Family Camp at Portage Lake is a vacation unlike any other! There is something for everyone!

In the morning after worshiping together, adults are challenged in Bible study while kids and teens divide into age-based small groups for a lesson and some games. Throughout the afternoon enjoy all that Portage Lake has to offer: waterfront, climbing wall, arts & crafts, the Canteen, high ropes course, canoe trips on the Manistee & Pine Rivers, flying squirrel, carpetball, Cool Beans coffee shop, water trampoline, dune hike and much more.

A favorite of Family Camps is always the camper vs. staff sports. Take on our summer staff in basketball, softball, baseball and volleyball. After evening chapel, the staff always has something memorable planned-like a family game show in the Chapel or a special outdoor movie.

Family Camp is all inclusive! It’s a chance to be together as a family, in a place unlike any other. Your family will share experiences that you will never forget.

There is limited space in Family Camps, call the camp office at 231-889-5911 or email Ruth@portagelake.org for availability.

Guest Speaker

Jared Van Voorst

Jared is the Lead Pastor of Life Church, Canton. He is also the Founder of The Beyond Collective.

Jared in his own words:

“I am first and foremost a child of God. I have a wonderful family. I spend my vocational time and calling as a pastor. I love to teach, preach, and lead in such a way that inspires people to see God—not as a boring, irrelevant or judgmental rule giver in the sky—but as a person that looks like the Jesus of the Bible. I believe there is a plan for the restoration, rescue and renewal of all creation; and I’m spending my life partnering with God and the multi-ethnic church to see that vision become a reality.”
